Set up email in the Outlook app

Use these steps if you read email in the Microsoft Outlook app on your iPhone or Android phone.

Your domain

Wherever this guide says yourdomain.com, use the part of your email address after the @ sign. For example, if your address is jane@example.org, your server is mail.example.org and your username is jane@example.org.

Steps

  1. Open the Outlook app. If you already have an account in it, open the menu, tap Settings, then Add Mail Account.
  2. Enter your email address and tap Add Account. If Outlook doesn’t set it up on its own, tap Set Up Account Manually.
  3. Choose IMAP (under Advanced), and turn on Use Advanced Settings if you see it.
  4. Enter the settings shown below, then tap Sign In.

Settings to check

  • Incoming: port 993, Port Security SSL. Don’t use STARTTLS with port 993.
  • Outgoing: port 587, Port Security STARTTLS.
  • Passwords: enter your password in both the IMAP and SMTP sections.
